The Seven Blocks to Success: No.1 Detached Leadership





Hi this is Dr. Rick Goodman the Team Building Expert and today we are going to discuss the Seven Blocks to Team Success.


The first block to team success is a Detached Leadership. If the leader is not involved with the team on a regular basis both communicating and connecting with individual members there  often becomes a disconnect and eventually the team stops performing at a high level.

The number one thing you could do as a leader is to ask your team members if they need any help! Most likely the answer will be no, however it is the first thing that shows them that you care!

Championship Life Challenge Episode 7 - Make Your Goals More Realistic!







Hi this is Dr. Rick Goodman the Team Building Expert and author of the book Living a Championship Life “A Game Plan for Success" with your next episode of the Championship Challenge.


Last time we covered the S.M.A.R.T formula of goal setting and we discussed the R in the S.M.A.R.T formula for setting goals which stands for Realistic. 

There is no such thing as unrealistic goal only unrealistic time frames. Sometimes there are things that we want to accomplish immediately, however that may be unrealistic!

Luck is when preparation meets opportunity so we need to be prepared and focused on our goals while still giving us enough time to realistically reach that deadline.

Tony Robbins always says "God's delays are not God's denials" I believe that's a great quote especially when refocusing on realistic time frames.

Championship Life Challenge Episode 6 - Make Your Goals More Achievable ...

Last time we covered the S.M.A.R.T formula of goal setting we discussed the M which stood for Measurable. Your goals need to be measurable so you can gauge the progress which are making and make adjustments if necessary.

Today we are going to discuss the A in the S.M.A.R.T formula for setting goals which stands for Achievable or Attainable. I believe that you can achieve or attain any goal that you set your mind to as long as you can continue your focus!

Living A Championship Life Challenge Episode 5: Make Your Goals Measurab...




Hi this is
Dr. Rick Goodman teambuilding expert and author of the book Living A Championship
Life “A Game Plan for Success” with your championship challenge. In the last
episode we spoke about the S.M.A.R.T formula for setting goals and how the S
stands for Specific. Your goals must be crystal clear if you are ever to
achieve them and they need to be specific! 



Today we are going to discuss the M
which stands for Measurable. You must have a way of measuring and quantifying
your goals in order for you to gauge progress.





If your goal
is to lose weight you have to know how many pounds you want to lose and you
have to be willing to step on the scale in order to measure it. If you're
driving cross country you have to have a map which is your measurable and guide
for you to know which direction you're going to be traveling. 

Suffice to say
the M in the S.M.A.R.T formula is critical if we are to achieve all our hopes
and dreams!

Championship Life Challenge Episode 4: Set Your Goals

Dr. Rick Goodman the Teambuilding Expert discusses the art of goal setting. 

As I travel around the country I ask people 20-70 years old: What do you want to be when you grow up? The number one answer I get is "I don't know"! 

The most successful people know world set goals and today we are going to discuss the S.M.A.R.T. system for setting goals.

This goal setting system has been around for years and works as well today as and when it was first taught. 

The S stands for specific. Your goals must be crystal clear! You need to know exactly what you want because your mind is like a giant computer that acts on specific information that receives.

Do you think you could do a search on Google for something specific by putting in general information? 

Of course not! You Must Be Specific! 

Here is the assignment for today:

I would like you to write down everything that you want to Be, Do and Have them don't stop writing until you are finished! Once you are done put down the sheet of paper for 24 hours and then revisit your goals again.

Next time we will discuss the M in the S.M.A.R.T. formula stands for Measurable!

Championship Life Challenge: What Are You Looking At?

Hi I'm Dr. Rick Goodman the Teambuilding Expert and author of the book: Living a Championship Life “A Game Plan for Success” with your Championship Challenge. 

Many of us have had setbacks and disappointments in our lives that we have had to face. However it's not what happens to us that ultimately affects our success and our lives. It is our perception to what is happening to us and how we React or Respond to that situation that makes the big difference!

So my question today is what are you looking at? Are you looking at the lessons that can be learned from the situation when it's not quite going your way? Do you look at your cup half-full or half empty?

Your perception and the way that you look at things that happen to you will determine your success in handling that situation effectively!

Our championship challenge for today is: take three things that you can do right now to improve the way you were looking at situations and challenges we're facing and ask yourself this one question:

What Is Good about this Situation? How can I learn a lesson from this that will make me personally and professionally more successful?
